MEN’S HEALTH
Low Testosterone & TRT
Low testosterone assessment with appropriate blood testing, diagnostic review and clear advice on treatment options and what makes sense next.
ASSESSMENT
Blood Tests
Fasting morning testosterone, repeated if borderline
DIAGNOSIS
Before Treatment
Proper diagnosis before TRT starts
Low testosterone is not always straightforward. Symptoms such as fatigue, low mood, reduced libido, poor concentration and changes in strength or motivation can overlap with other health issues.
Testosterone replacement is not something to start based on a questionnaire. As part of our men’s health service, diagnosis begins with proper blood work — fasting morning testosterone, repeated if borderline — and a clinical assessment that distinguishes genuine hypogonadism from treatable causes of the same symptoms.
Symptoms
Symptoms Discussed During Testosterone Assessment
- Persistent fatigue or low energy
- Low mood, irritability or poor motivation
- Reduced libido or sexual function
- Difficulty concentrating or reduced mental clarity
- Loss of muscle mass or strength
- Increased body fat
- Sleep disturbance
Assessment
Testosterone Assessment
Your GP will review your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle factors and any previous investigations. Blood tests are essential — testosterone should be measured fasting, in the morning, and repeated if borderline.
Not every symptom points to testosterone deficiency. Low testosterone can also overlap with erectile dysfunction, and the two are often assessed together. Your GP will also consider thyroid function, iron levels, mood, sleep and other factors that can cause similar symptoms. If specialist input is needed, a referral to endocrinology can be arranged.
Treatment
When TRT May Be Considered
If blood tests confirm genuinely low testosterone and symptoms are consistent, testosterone replacement therapy may be appropriate. Your GP will discuss the options, benefits, risks and monitoring requirements.
TRT requires ongoing monitoring with regular blood tests. This is not a one-off prescription — it is ongoing care. Membership makes regular review simpler and more affordable.
“Completely happy with everything, as usual. I didn’t wait at all, and the advice I was given was very thorough, helpful and comprehensive.”
