Nick Kypriotis

I am a qualified and accredited psychologist with over 15 years of clinical experience across both outpatient and residential settings. At Basuto, I work alongside the GP team to provide integrated mental health care — meaning your therapist and your doctor communicate directly about your treatment.

I trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to an advanced level. EMDR is recommended by both NICE and the World Health Organisation as a frontline treatment for trauma and PTSD. I use it to treat single-incident trauma, complex PTSD, and trauma-related anxiety.

I am accredited by the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals (FDAP), which reflects my extensive experience in addiction therapy. I work with patients dealing with alcohol dependency, substance misuse, gambling, and behavioural addictions — coordinating with the GPs at Basuto for safe detox protocols when needed.

My therapeutic approach draws on CBT, EMDR, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation. I also work with patients on ADHD management, relationship difficulties, performance and executive stress, and couples counselling. Sessions are available weekly or fortnightly.
